The City Manager is appointed by the City Council to serve as the administrative head of the City government. (Chapter 2.08, Morgan Hill Municipal Code)
The City Manager is responsible for preparing the annual budget, for managing the personnel system, and for recommending and implementing Council policy. In addition, the City Manager serves as Executive Director of the Redevelopment Agency (RDA), Personnel Officer, Purchasing Agent, and Director of Emergency Services.
The City Manager is supported by a Confidential Administrative Assistant who also supports the City Council and the Administrative Services Department.
The following four positions report directly to the City Manager: Assistant City Manager for Community Development, Police Chief, Director of Community Services, and Director of Administrative Services.
