There are numerous properties located within the City of Morgan Hill that have been designated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHAs). SFHAs are areas within the “100 Year Flood” boundary which have a 1 percent chance of being inundated in any given year.

In Morgan Hill, these SFHA’s are generally located near the following major creeks: Llagas, West Little Llagas, Edmundson, Foothill, Paradise, Tennant, Coyote, Maple and Corralitos.

Sand Bag Stations In Morgan Hill
The City of Morgan Hill maintains a “fill it yourself” sand bag station located next to the city corporation yard at 100 Edes Court. Sand, empty bags and shovels are provided for residents who need sand bags to protect their homes and businesses from flooding. In addition, the Santa Clara Valley Water District supplies a similar sand bag station on Old Monterey Road near the El Toro Fire Station. The Edes Court and Old Monterey locations are available 24/7.
