Various studies about the city’s planned roadway network, “level of service” (LOS) Policy, and certain roadway improvement projects have recently been completed. Please use the
Transportation website link to access information about:
- General Plan Circulation Element Amendment and EIR (amendments to road network & LOS Policy),
- Santa Teresa Boulevard project (proposed as a 2-lane multi-modal corridor),
- West Dunne Avenue Widening improvement project (proposed as a 2-lane multi-modal corridor),
- Walnut Grove Drive Extension North transportation impact analysis (the Walnut Grove decision involves a local connector street rather than a citywide facility, and any decision about that future improvement will be made in conjunction with a General Plan land use amendment request currently being processed, and that process will not occur until Spring 2010 at the earliest).
The Downtown Transportation Impact Analysis within the Master EIR was prepared for the proposed
Downtown Specific Plan can be accessed through the Downtown Specific Plan website link.
Note that the Downtown Specific Plan itself does NOT propose any changes to the roadway network (i.e. narrowing Monterey Road to 2 lanes is NOT proposed). Any possible changes to downtown circulation would be considered through a General Plan Circulation Element Amendment process, and the soonest that would occur would be in early 2010 in conjunction with the currently proposed Circulation Element GPA.
