Emergency Preparedness

The Office of Emergency Services (OES) operates under Police Administration and serves the entire City of Morgan Hill. OES provides educational services for city employees, residents, businesses, faith based organizations and schools to prevent, prepare, respond and recover from emergencies and disasters, both natural and man-made.

OES staff maintains the City's Emergency Operations Plan (PDF) in accordance with the State of California's Standardized Emergency Management System.

OES also has several safety videos on the City's YouTube channel to help residents get ahead of emergencies.

Preparedness 
Following a disaster, community members may not have outside assistance from Law, Fire, or Emergency Medical Service for 72 hours or longer. do 1 thingis a program that community members can follow to take steps in becoming better prepared for disasters and emergencies. Additional resources include building a disaster supply kit and creating a family plan.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training
Learn basic emergency preparedness and disaster response skills. The basic training program is offered usually multiple times a year and is offered free of charge


Ham Radio
