Butterfield Park

The City of Morgan Hill is envisioned a future park along Butterfield Boulevard at Monterey Road. The initial interest for the development of 8 acres was tied to potential grant funding for the site. Unfortunately, City was unsuccessful in obtaining grant funding for the project. Following this unsuccessful effort the City issued and RFP to identify potential public and private partners to construct the Park. The City has partnered with USA BMX/Foundation for a Better Ride on the project. The City is constructing a smaller park area and associated infrastructure improvements and working with partners to fund the construction of the BMX track.

Information on the partnership is available as part of the March 15, 2023, Council Meeting, item #20. The City currently has a contractor constructing the City Park portion of the site. This construction is anticipated to be completed in early 2026. It is anticipated that the USA BMX/Foundation for a Better Ride will commence work on the BMX track in the near future with completion occurring at the same time the City's contractor completes work on the park.
