Deadline Approaching: County Seeks Candidates for Disability Community Advisory Group

Qualified Candidates Sought for New County Committee to Address Disability Issues, End Ableism. The Disability Community Accountability Advisory Board will be a public forum that guides the work of the County and the Office of Disability.
We are looking for community members (18 years and older) who can commit to being a member of this Group for a term of 12 months, starting in January 2024. Term may be renewable. Group members will participate in 6 advisory meetings per year. Additional subcommittees and self-paced learning will take place between the 6 meetings. The total estimated time requirement for the full year is 60 hours.
In the course of their participation in the Disability Community Advisory Group, members will:
- Learn about and explore potential systems innovations to better address disability access and inclusion in Santa Clara County.
- Help shape policy recommendations to send to the Office of Disability Affairs and/or other County leadership entities.
- Provide other valuable contributions and support, as needed.
Members will receive a $1,000* stipend for participation.
