Community Resources and Information
We encourage the community to take inventory of their homes and prepare for rain, clear storm drains, clean up debris that may blow around, and check your yard for potential flood areas.
City teammates are continuously working to clear storm drains and debris, and collaborating with Valley Water to minimize the impact on our community members with a concentrated concern for our vulnerable populations and high-flooding risk areas.
Current Road/Area Closures
Motorists are advised to expect delays and to use alternate routes. Visit CalTran's Quick Map or the California Highway Patrol Traffic Page for live traffic conditions.
Flood Warnings
Santa Clara County, Office of Emergency Management, may issue a flood warning if needed. A flood warning is a notification to the community to prepare for the possibility of an evacuation. Please plan what route you will take and where you will go, gather necessary documents, pets, and other essential belongings, and ensure you are signed up to receive emergency notifications via AlertSCC.
What We Are Doing
The Public Services team is proactively pumping water from various areas to expand capacity in the City and flushing storm drains where issues occur. We are also working with Valley Water to ensure maximum flow is available in their storm facilities. Valley Water is proactively sending out flood warning information to potentially impacted neighborhoods, and we are amplifying its messaging through our social media channels. The major flood zones we have experienced have pre-staged signs and barricades ready for quick use to notify the community of road closures or hazardous areas.

Report Flooding 24 Hours a Day
Report non-emergency flooding issues to the City of Morgan Hill by calling or texting 669-286-0315 24 hours a day or by calling 408-776-7333 during business hours. Non-emergency police issues can be reported at 408-779-2101. Please be sure to use 911 only in cases of emergency.
Sandbags
There are two sandbag stations in Morgan Hill. One near the El Toro Fire Station, at the intersection of Old Monterey and Monterey Roads, and the City's Corporation yard, 100 Edes Court. Staff is monitoring sandbag supply levels and replenishing them as much as possible. Some City-provided shovels are available for your use, but you may want to bring a shovel.
Warming Centers
The Morgan Hill Library, 660 W. Main Ave, and the Centennial Recreation Center (CRC), 171 W. Edmundson Ave., operate as warming centers during regular business hours. The VTA may provide free rides to County warming centers.
Power Outages
Power outages are possible. If they occur, please be patient, as crews will be working on power restorations while balancing emergency responses to other storm needs. PG&E customers may view and report outages at https://pgealerts.alerts.pge.com/outagecenter.
Stay Informed and Connected
Be aware of current and forecast conditions and monitor changes in the weather forecast. Get notifications from the City via AlertSCC, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Nextdoor, and the Police Department’s Facebook.
