Ms. Kiana
Preschool Director Teacher
Kiana started in early childhood after graduating with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Utah, where she attended on a division 1 softball scholarship. She became a preschool teacher in Salt Lake City at The Avenues Preschool, an NAEYC accredited, Reggio Emilia based program. Kiana fell in love with play-based learning and is a big believer in the importance of social - emotional growth in children. She became director of their 2-year-old program, and in the years following, the center director.
Kiana furthered her experience as an early childhood teacher trainer through Child Care Resource and Referral Metro in Salt Lake. She provided training to home providers and local preschools in all areas of early childhood such as, appropriate guidance, classroom management, growth and development, and curriculum planning. Kiana loved connecting with educators to share her experience.
After relocating to California with her family in 2012, Kiana became an assistant teacher at the City of Morgan Hill Recreation Preschool. Over the next 9 years Kiana transitioned to the lead teacher for all 3 program classes and in Fall of 2023 took on the role of director. She loves working for this program in her community where she feels connected to so many families. She feels the program offers the perfect amount of play, age-appropriate academics, and social interaction, for children to become well rounded.
Over the Summer of 2023, Kiana gained additional director experience at a Montessori program in San Jose. During Covid, she provided online courses for children ages 3-8 on Outschool and took a teaching position at Primrose School of Evergreen in San Jose.
Kiana loves spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband Mike are very proud parents to their 4 children, Chance, Antonio, Marc, and Mara. They love living in Morgan Hill and spending their free time at the beach!
T/TH a.m. & M/W/F a.m. Assistant Teacher
Yureyni joined our school after gaining valuable experience working at a local preschool program, where she developed a deep passion for early childhood education. She has been working with children since 2019 and finds joy in creating meaningful connections with each child she works with. Currently, Yureyni is a student at De Anza College, majoring in psychology, where she is expanding her knowledge of child development, behavior, and emotional well-being.
Yureyni was drawn to our school not only for her passion for working with children but also because of the strong sense of community in Morgan Hill. Wanting to be an active part of a close-knit and supportive environment. She saw this as the perfect opportunity to contribute while staying connected to the place she calls home. She enjoys creating a balanced and engaging classroom environment where children feel secure, encouraged, and eager to learn. Yureyni believes in the power of creativity as a vital part of a child's development. She loves witnessing their imagination come to life and values the joy and pride they feel when sharing their creations. She sees art as a way for children to explore their emotions, build confidence, and develop problem-solving skills in a fun and supportive setting. Being able to be a part of the beginning stages of their development is such a reward to Yureyni.
Yureyni enjoys spending time with loved ones. She also enjoys long drives to the beach, as well as baking. She loves experimenting with new recipes, from cookies and cakes to pastries. Yureyni loves this program!
